Spotted Eagle Ray Enamel Pin
$12.00
“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever” -Jacques Cousteau
The spotted eagle ray, Aetobatus narinari, is one of the largest eagle rays, having a wingspan of around 10 feet and a length of about 16 feet, including their tail. They are a coastal species, but are distrubuted worldwide, and are generally found inhabiting coral reefs. Like other elasmobranchs, they are cartilaginous fish and posses elctroreceptors that allow them to detect movements of their prey (bivalves, molluscs, and small fishes) which they grind with plates of interlocking teeth.
This beautiful stingray pin features one of my favorite quotes from Jacques Cousteau around a spotted eagle ray hiding in the midst of colorful seaweed
Made from black nickel plated hard enamel, and measuring 1.5 inches, this pin would make the perfect gift for any ocean lover and would be a beautiful addition to an enamel pin collection.
Comes with two rubber pin backs to prevent sliding and a “Marytime Designs” logo backing stamp for authenticity as well as screen printed details. Pins are mounted on a beautiful backing card featuring original watercolor artwork.
